INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE OF FUSED SILICA ROLLER

Fused silica roller is the crucial part of tempering furnace. It’s better to increase the productivity and quality in good condition of installation, using and maintenance.

1. Installation

A).Fused silica roller is fragile easily. During the transportation and installation, impaction and knocking strongly are both forbidden strictly.

B).  To keep the proper alignment of two ends of roller so as to avoid distortion which leads to roller broken.

2. Usage

A). To keep roller drying in condition with the temperature 100℃ for 2—3 hours.

B). Fused silica roller should keep running when the temperature is exceeding 300℃. If no running for a long time, the roller will be deformed in high temperature.

C). The endcaps of two ends of roller should be used within temperature 100℃ so as to avoid loosing.

3.  Cleaning & Maintenance

A). If some adhesive matter or molten glass sticked on the roller surface, it should be polished by 800# sand paper firstly.

B). To use pure water or deionized water to clean the roller. DO NOT use well water and other underground water. DO NOT use laundry soap powder, soap water, detergent remover, cleaner essence, decontaminating agent which contain such as K and Na and so on.

4. As the silica roller is mainly made from SiO2, it should not be in touch of hydrofluoric acid and fluorine hydride gas.
